English
The English program is a college-level language arts initiative developed by the College Board that encourages students to think critically, communicate effectively, and develop a strong personal voice. Through its portfolio-based courses—AP English Language and Composition and AP English Literature and Composition—students engage with a wide range of texts, explore rhetorical and literary techniques, and refine their writing skills. The program emphasizes close reading, analytical thinking, and clear expression, helping students prepare for the demands of college-level English and writing courses. AP English also distinguishes students in the college admissions process by demonstrating advanced critical reading, writing, and communication skills.
